Energy Star Portfolio Manager Enrollment Instructions
- Log in to your Questar Web Self Service account and submit a request to participate.
- Create an Energy Star Portfolio Manager (ESPM) account.
- Create properties in your ESPM account.
- Add meters to your properties in your ESPM account.
- Submit a connection request in ESPM to Questar Gas.
- Setup a web services/data exchange with Questar Gas in ESPM
- Link the ESPM meter ID’s with the Questar Gas Meter ID’s in your Questar Web Self Service account.
1. Log in to your Questar Web Self Service account and submit a request to participate.
Go to www.questargas.com, and log into your Web Self Service account.
Select the account you would like to participate, then go to the ThermWise tab and click on the link to sign up for the ThermWise Business Benchmarking Service and accept the terms and conditions. This will send a request to the ThermWise team to review your request. Within 2 business days your request will be reviewed. Once your request has been reviewed and approved you will receive an email with your ESPM connection code. (This code will be used in step 5)
2. Create an Energy Star Portfolio Manager (ESPM) account.
Complete the ESPM account registration process at https://portfoliomanager.energystar.gov/pm/signup.
Once you complete the registration process above, you will be logged into your ESPM account as shown below.
3. Create properties in your ESPM account.
Click on “Add a Property.”
Complete the property enrolment process.
Once you have successfully added a property you will see the screen below.
4. Add meters to your properties in your ESPM account.
Select the Energy tab and click on “Add A Meter.”
Select Natural gas and enter the number of meters your property has and click get started.
Click on the fields below to update the information. Name the meter something you will recognize.(This meter name will be used to match to the questar meter in step 7) Update the units to therms, and enter a date (Todays date will work, it will update to the date the meter became active automatically) in the Date Meter became active field, and click Create Meters.
You will see the screen below once you have successfully created your meters. Then click on Apply Selections
5. Submit a connection request in ESPM to Questar Gas.
Select Contacts in the top right corner of the web page.
Type Questar Gas in the search field and click Search for new contacts.
Enter the Connection Key that was included in the email you received in step 1.(This email is sent once the ThermWise team has reviewed and approved your request to participate.) Then click “Send Connection Request.”
The screen below will appear once the connection request has been submitted. The connection requests are reviewed each morning by Questar gas. Once your connection request has been accepted you will be able to share properties and exchange data.
6. Setup a web services/data exchange with Questar Gas in ESPM
Once Questar has accepted your sharing request you will receive an e-mail stating that they have accepted your sharing request, and you will be able to set up the data exchange with Questar gas in ESPM.
Select the Sharing tab and click on Set up Web Services/Data Exchange.
Complete the Bulk Share Properties for Exchanging Data Request and click Authorize Exchange.
The screen below will show once the Bulk Share Properties for Exchange Data has been submitted.
7.Link the ESPM meter ID’s with the Questar Gas Meter ID’s in your Questar Web Self Service account.
The sharing process will be completed by the following day and the final step is to log in to the Questar Gas Web Self Service and match the ESPM meter ID’s with the Questar Gas Meter ID’s.
Click on Manage Your ThermWise Business Benchmarking Service.
Click on the pencil to edit and match the ESPM meter to your Questar Gas meter.
Once ESPM meters have been matched to Questar Meters usage date will load to the ESPM site the following morning.
Your account set-up is now complete!!!
