On March 31, 2009, the Utah Public Service Commission approved an order reducing the rebate amounts available for insulation measures as follows:
- Attic Insulation rebate changes from $0.35 to $0.20 per square foot;
- Floor Insulation rebate changes from $0.35 to $0.20 per square foot;
- Wall Insulation rebate changes from $0.45 to $0.30 per square foot;
These changes to the rebates will be effective starting May 2, 2009. Eligible customers with insulation installations completed on or before May 1, 2009, must submit a completed rebate application postmarked no later than June 30, 2009, to be eligible for a rebate equal to the original insulation rebate levels. Installations completed on or after May 2, 2009, are eligible for the revised rebate levels. Additionally, insulation installations completed on or before May 1, 2009, but postmarked after June 30, 2009, will be subject to the revised rebate levels.
Builders of multifamily properties of five or more units are eligible for rebates for building more energy-efficient units.
