THERMWISE® ENERGY COMPARISON REPORT
 The ThermWise® Energy Comparison Report is a customized report for each Questar Gas customer. Customers who are interested in seeing how their energy-usage compares to 100 neighbors with comparable-sized homes can login to QuestarGas.com to view their customized report. In addition, the report provides tips on how best to manage energy use, cut costs and save money. To help customers measure their conservation progress, the report will be updated monthly.
Why is Questar Gas® encouraging customers to use less natural gas?
Energy is a precious resource. And just because there's an abundant supply of natural gas in America, consumers should still use it wisely. When consumers use less natural gas, demand decreases. When demand decreases, prices drop and everyone benefits. Questar Gas and the Utah Public Service Commission work together to ensure the company can operate a safe and reliable distribution system while still encouraging customers to reduce their energy usage.
What is the ThermWise® Energy Comparison Report?
It's a one-page, customized report that provides Questar Gas customers with an in-depth analysis of how they're using natural gas compared to their neighbors. The report gathers gas-usage data from 100 neighbors with the same size home and groups them into three categories: "Great" (the top 25 that use the least amount of gas), "Good" (the 50 homes where gas usage falls in the middle), and "We can help you save" (the remaining 25 homes that use the most natural gas). The report shows where a specific customer's home fits in the comparison group and provides tips on how to improve the home's energy efficiency.
Where can I view this report?
The report is available online at QuestarGas.com. Login to the customer self-serve page to view your account and see an electronic version of the report. If you don't have a username and password, you can register on the website. A hard copy of the report will also be mailed to Questar Gas customers on a regular basis.
Is the report confidential?
Yes. Even though the reports factor in 100 comparable neighbors, you won't know their account information. And when your neighbors review their customized reports, they won't know your account information.
How accurate is the ThermWise® Energy Comparison Report?
It is providing customers with an accurate picture of how they're using energy, but it's not perfect. The report is only as good as the information we have. Finding the right comparison group for customer homes requires square-footage information, and much of that is obtained from various county records and data that our customers enter into our system through the self-serve application at QuestarGas.com. There are other things that impact usage such as the number of people in a home, number of appliances, type of weatherization, etc. As customers begin using the reports to improve the efficiency of their homes, we expect to see more data become available, which will improve the accuracy over time.
Can I update my square footage information if it's not accurate on the report?
Yes. We gathered square footage for all of our customers from county public records, and there may be some errors. To update your home's square footage, please log into your account at www.QuestarGas.com. The updated square footage will be automatically be reflected in your report.
